kyra, dan &sweet pearl were so lovely to photograph. i feel as if we had been friends forever... perhaps that's because i have mutual friends with both kyra&dan. isn't that crazy?!? i gave a scream of excitement as soon as they told me which then cause the little one to burst into tears {note to self... learn to talk in a quiet voice}. ha! as soon as pearl realized that i was normal {errr somewhat..} she stopped her tears.

you can't tell at all, but it was FREEZING the day of their session. they were such troopers for the entire thing {including little pearly} and didn't complain once! plus, they had a TON of fun ideas {love it when that happens}!!!

this session is near and dear to my heart.

lindsey {who you may have seen over in THIS POST} who i have become friends with, contacted me and asked me to photograph her and her husband's re-uniting after a long 6 months from his deployment.

now, keep in mind that their little girl {molly} was only 2 months old when he left.

the day of the shoot i was getting so emotional just thinking about the moments when they would see each other for the first time after being separated for so long. also, the excitement he must have felt to see his little girl who was now 8 months old. it was so dramatic how the planes flew in {he's a pilot by the way}, landed, lined up, and then shut the engines off... you can imagine the sound of high heels running across the flight line to go meet their spouses.

hiya lovelies! i hope that you are well on this cool october afternoon. at the moment i am currently tucked away in one of cafe nero's coffee shops looking out at the threatening clouds wondering if i will make it home dry or soaked.. in other news, i am seriously about to fall out of my seat, squealing with excitement about the session i am about to share with yall.

have i told you how much i LOVE photographing couples?!? ah! i don't want to play the favorites game, but i LOVE LOVE LOVE couple sessions! like, whoa. lexi&jeremy made my job extra fun by goofing off and being so playful with each other the entire time. as soon as i heard, "we're never serious" i knew that i was going to be bouncing all over the place with my camera!!! shall we take a peek at the two love birds???

this family rocks because:

a. the first thing lisa said when i met her was, "um, yeah... my family is loud."

b. they are all full of life.

c. their sarcastic tone is UH-MAZING.

i knew we were all going to get along just fine. if it's one thing i love, it's loud families!! why? um, because my family is SO.VERY.LOUD. i'm talking the kind of loud where everyone is constantly "shh'ing" everyone else... and full of life? um, yes please.. who likes to be boring? not this girl! finally, let's talk about sarcasm. if you don't know me very well then you probably don't know my sarcastic layer. it doesn't take long to find it...once you get past the hi-nice-to-meet-you layer then the sarcastic layer isn't too far behind.

anyways, this family was AMAZING because ALL of them {yes, including that cute, tiny one in the princess dress} braved the crazy cambridge weather.

i am sooooooooo excited about today's post! i have been counting down the days to post these wedding images since before they were even edited!

sophie+rich.

i met these two love birds at the church i currently attend. the mrs. was in my bible study while the mr. led the worship for church services. even though i've only known these two a short while, they are SO perfect for each other!... and their families??? LOVE THEM! in fact, everyone i met that was related and/or friends with this couple was absolutely amazing {including the breakfast in bed i received from the lovely family that graciously let me stay with them! how awesome is that?!?} what a wonderful marriage these two are embarking on. i cannot wait to hear future stories about where life leads them together.

i hope you brought your sun cream {as the brits call it} and your spanish lingo with you for today's post. :) i'm happy to say that the mister and i have just returned from a lovely holiday from majorca, spain. i have to say, i've never seen anything quite like this place. B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L.

this is part one of our lovely adventure...i wanted to give you a taste of what we woke up to every morning. speaking of tasting, there's one snapshot {second to last photo} of a man and his wife who were selling coconuts to all of {us} tourists in one of the coves we found. we had so much fun exploring the breathtaking island of majorca.

hello my dears. joining me today is a cutie patootie, girlie girl that's near and dear to my heart. meet izzy bug. me, her momma and izzy have weekly play days! she's quite fun to play with and i'll have you know that she's on the verge of WALKING. i keep thinking that the day i see her will be the day that she takes her first steps.... it hasn't happened yet, but i guarantee it'll be this week. by the way, she also just celebrated her first birthday! HURRAY! so, without further adieu, here's izzy bug.

okay, i fibbed a little... i forgot to add: look out for the trunk that appears within the shoot. it's her father's trunk from when he was a little boy in boarding school! HOW FUN! {not the boarding school part... he probably didn't like school... what little kid does?!?} each person in school received a trunk with their name on it so they could put belongings in it... it was a last minute grab before heading off to the shoot. when izzy's mum told me the story behind it i thought to myself, "SENTIMENTAL GOODNESS! THIS IS A MUST!" okay, now it's photo time...

i first heard about them through a mutual friend before i moved across the pond. i was told that i HAVE TO MEET THEM. hurray for taking the advice of others because... they are so lovely! :)

moving on to the shoot... let me tell you what i love {even more than chocolate}: I LOVE COUPLES THAT ARE SO ENTHUSIASTIC about shoots! hearing ideas from my clients means that they are excited about photo sessions which makes me EVEN MORE EXCITED!!! i also love cutie-patootie baby bumps{ps- it's their first bump}! so far, this is a recipe for a great day, don't you think? yes, me too. they wanted a london-y shoot that will be remembered in the photo album for years to come...

when i was asked to photograph a session that was in celebration of 30 years of marriage i was so excited!!! after reading the email i began counting down the days until the shoot... a photo shoot to celebrate 30 years.. WHAT A FANTASTIC IDEA! i love being around families and seeing the genuine love for each other, the inside jokes, the complete comfort they have with one another and the other dynamics that make the family love so special . maybe it's because i come from a MASSIVE family and being around other families reminds me of mine and helps me feel not so far from home. perhaps. or maybe it was the hug i received at the end of the session!

either way.... I LOVED IT!

the day of the shoot was threatened by rain clouds and grey skies... i had my doubts about it clearing up. but, if it's one thing i've learned about english weather- you can experience almost every season in one day... so, just wait it out.

i am super excited about this particular photo shoot for a few reasons:

a. rach+erik were traveling all across europe and stopped by cambridge to visit/have a photo session {how fun!?!}

b. they are sooooooo a photogenic {which made my job super easy!}

c. i've known rachael since i was a little girl {our families go waaaaaaay back}

d. i spell my middle name the exact same way she does!

e. they were both enthusiast about all my ideas for this shoot {including erik which isn't like most guys}

when lindsey contacted me to book a photo session and told me where she lived i was blown away...why? because we live .8 miles from each other! talk about destiny... i see many afternoon teas in our future.

this particular shoot was very sweet. sweet in the fact that her hubby is currently away serving our {american} country and while he's away she wanted to capture some special moments between her and little molly to send to her husband so he wont feel so far away from them. {cue the most emotional "awwws!"} i felt so honored to capture just a few of their special moments between a mother&daughter. and now for the pictures.....

i had the honour of photographing this lovely couple's wedding {and engagement photos}. not only seeing a friend marry her prince charming, but being able to capturing every special moment of their day is on a total different level of amazingness. and i have to say that this was one of the most chill'axed bride&groom EVER.

crazy bridezilla? forget about it.

happy&easy going? BIG YES.

I love photographing couples that you can TOTALLY tell are in love {cue the "aawwwws"}.

Not only does it make my job super duper easy {because all I have to do is step back, let the lovey dovey'ness begin} but it reminds how important it is to always remember young love.

I knew these two were going to be a blast to photograph because as soon they got out of the vehicle to meet up with me I heard leah yell from a distance in the cutest, southern accent , "where are you at?!? did you say to meet you in the woooooods?!? okay...". They were such good sports about all my {crazy} ideas that I had for their shoot. Hey, speaking of "sports" have I mentioned that these two are total softball/baseball fanatics?!? Oh yes, it's true. Here's a curve ball for ya... I learned that it took heath longer to pick his outfit out than it did for leah. :)

Oh BABY! have you ever seen such cuteness?!? This little kiddo is probably the happiest baby there is {except when you change outfits.. she's not crazy about changing clothes}. Addy Kayte happens to be one of my best friend's sister's baby {did you catch all that?!?}. Can you tell that she's already spoiled?! How could you not spoil this bundle of cuteness!??

As my last few days are coming to a close in Alabama, i've been packing in all the photo shoots i can get! PHEW.

This session was for an interior designer's client. C {that's what we'll call this designer} is decorating a little boy's room. She wanted to incorporate an old tyme car in the boy's room {obviously because he's a BOY.. and he loves cars!}

this past weekend the hubs and i got to visit his {and my NEW} family. unfortunately, i was sick for most of it BUT i was still happy to see everyone {and meet some little ones on eric's {adam's stepdad} side of the fam.

Heritage House brings customers of all shapes, sizes, personalities, and professions. One particular customer that comes in for her morning cup o' joe teaches classes on interior design at The University of Alabama. We'll call her S. S is going to grad school for design. She asked me to take a few photos for her portfolio of some kitchens she helped designed.

The difference styles in these two kitchens show the diversity that S has. "The red" kitchen was designed for the couples' son who has cerebral palsy {i'm not the best speller in the world}. i thought that was awesome how designers not only make space work for decorative purposes but that it's actually used for practicality too.

Watch out Trading Spaces. S has got it going on... just check and see for yourself!

thank you for your daily {probably more like monthly...} blog checks. i will reward you with another post! yaaaay.

these lovies are brittany and john. i know brittany from those good ol' highschool years. they were so much fun to photograph. one of the reasons we got together was to attempt to get them with their "kids" {the two dogs}. unfortunately, it didn't really work out BUT i brought props to shoot with. britt and john were very playful which is always good considering my requests are sometimes crazy.. well, enough chatter. enjoy the photos!

Back in the fall when i worked at New Creations Hair Salon {for approximately 4 seconds} i told ashley i wanted to do a photo shoot with her before i shipped off to the ol' UK {a month from now!}. Since my philosophy has always been, "the more the merrier" i decided to have my sis come along too {somehow i always end up recruiting her for shoots}.

I had been brainstorming about this shoot for a few weeks so i was pretty pumped when this particular monday came around. thanks to my inspirational mag {anthropologie} i couldn't wait to go to tuscaloosa's arboretum for some {botanical} fun. unfortunately, my preparation blows. by the time my two models were ready for action the greenhouse was locked. talk about disappointment... for 5 seconds. good thing i have plan b's...

Meet Julie and Kevin. J and i have been friends since highschool {sooo long ago}. We've traveled together, lived together {yaay for roomies}, and both drove HONDAS! It was destiny for us to be friends. K and J both work together at UA {roll tide} {which i'm sure helped their love for one another blossom} They are gettin' hitched in June!

I wish i could be there to see my two friends become joined together in holy matrimony but alas i will be out of the country. I am so honored that i was able to take some engagements {which are my absolute fav}. Enjoy.

The Heritage House. My home away from home. Not only is there a great staff ready to serve you coffee, but check out these homemade goodies that are TO DIE FOR {trust me, i've had my fare share of sweets from the ole HH}.

For the past six years i have planted my feet with a cup of coffee in hand and a pay check ready to be cashed. Oh, if these walls could talk. They might say something along the lines of how my college classes were boring {and somewhat hard due to my lack of motivation.. except for my PHOTO classes} but also that the ENTIRE hh staff would giggle {and i would have many blushed moments} when a cute customer would grace the HH with his presence. I think you know who i'm talking about... ah yes, my husband {of almost 2 months!!!}. Yes, the HH is my home away from home.
